About
Raquel Vidal is a NYC area stylist specializing in wardrobe and still life for print, web and film. She’s available for studio and location shoots, wardrobe fittings and castings. By popular demand, she now also offers closet and image consultations, personal shopping and on-set styling for private clientele. Everyone now needs professional-looking photos of themselves and she is happy to offer that.
Raquel earned her BFA in Apparel Design at RISD (Rhode Island School of Design) and headed to New York after graduation, landing jobs as a fashion design assistant at several fashion houses. The copycat culture of 7th Avenue and lack of creativity sharply contrasted with her creative four years in art school. Through a series of part-time jobs and happenstance, she eventually segueed into a full-time job as a fashion assistant at Mademoiselle and discovered she loved styling photo shoots. She was able to gain a lot of experience there and build a styling portfolio. She left Mademoiselle with the title of Accessories Editor, got an agent and hit the small-but-mighty market in Boston for several years, working on national accounts right away. She eventually missed the buzz of New York and returned to the Big Apple.
Her work has appeared on the covers of magazines, billboards, TV commercials, print ads, catalogs and music videos. Raquel has worked with a wide variety of models, actors, celebrities and political figures. She has traveled extensively for work – chasing sunsets, fall leaves, snowy mountains and warmer climes and loves the artistic variety styling photo shoots presents. Raquel has discovered that she thrives in fast-paced creative environments where visual problem solving skills and collaboration with others come into play. She’s very grateful to have followed her heart professionally and loves the people she gets to interact with and the variety of visual work she does.
When Raquel isn’t working, she can be spotted at thrift stores, writing songs and playing guitar (she is a singer/songwriter as well), or pampering her Abyssinian cat, KP (KittenPants), who believes the universe revolves around the level of food in his dish.
